No-Till Drill Rental
The District promotes conservation tillage techniques by
offering, for rent two no-till drills.
The ten foot Great Plains
Drill requires at least 75 horsepower to operate on the rolling
hills of the county.
Also available is a seven foot Great Plains
705-NG no-till drill. This drill has a Native Grass Seed Attachment.
This new feature will expand the use of the drill with the growing
interest in establishing native warm-season grasses for grazing,
buffers, and wildlife plantings, plus aid in the establishment of
the more fluffy grasses like smooth bromegrass. The seven foot drill
requires at least 55 horsepower to operate.
Either drill rents for $8.00 per acre ($50.00 minimum charge) to
local landowners. A deposit of half the intended acreage plus a
$25.00 refundable clean-up deposit is required before picking up the
drill. Proof of insurance must be brought in.
